I have been in business since I began as a College Admissions Recruiter. However, I have
been building my independent college consulting for the past 5 years.
Before going into independent college consulting, I spent 8 years within the Higher Education
system. I started as an Admissions Counselor for my Alma Mater, Western Kentucky University
(a 4-yr Public Institution). I spent 4 years recruiting within Middle TN, Memphis TN, and Atlanta
GA. I spent 2 years, at Fisk University (Private 4-yr Institution) as a Senior Admissions
Counselor and then as the Assistant Director of Admissions. I spent 1 year as the Director of
Recruitment and Admissions at American Baptist College (a small Christian College).
No, I DO NOT guarantee admissions to any school or program. And I DO NOT guarantee
certain monetary values of any scholarships. My mission is to be a resource and a guide to help
students reach the post-secondary path that fits them best
No, Never. I never have and never will. Students must achieve these benchmarks on their own merit.
In order to stay current, I regularly read, research, and follow news reports, websites with higher education journals, and other higher education association news and reports. I regularly have them trending via my social media. I also go out and visit schools regularly.
I do adhere to the ethical guidelines set forth for private counseling as established by IECA, HECA, State and Federal Laws and Entities.
Yes, once the free consultation has been completed, I discuss fees with the family based on the student’s holistic and individual needs.
I do not complete any part of the admissions paperwork for the students or families. I feel it is the responsibility of the student to complete all necessary items for admissions themselves. I advise that myself and the family members helping only be utilized as guidance and necessary resources.
I will NOT and DO NOT use personal contacts to help students gain admission to any school or program.
This will be determined by the needs of the students and family members, after the initial consultation has been completed.
A student should ALWAYS disclose any learning disabilities, financial hardships, or any other situation that may play a role in the preparation, process, admittance, and matriculation of the College Admissions Path. Most colleges and universities have offices dedicated to helpful resources for students with any learning or physical disability.
My process is very hands on and involved. From the moment I begin working with a student and their family, I make myself completely available to them and their college admissions goals. Once we set up a plan of action, I will layout further details regarding my process.
My rapport that I am able to build with students of all ages and grade levels helps when entering a new client contract. I am able to connect with students by using the same language and social media that they are communicating with to their own friends and well liked sites. Once I have been able to build on that trust with a student, I am able to talk to them on several one-on-one bases to help execute the plan that has been made. While also keeping in touch with parents and family members to update them on progress and any items needed from the parental side. I try to help students listen to their own hearts and passions; to be able to carve out a path for themselves.
