Brandi L. Taylor, a 2002 Graduate of Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, KY), has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry (Pre-Med Concentration). After working in the healthcare industry for some time, her passion and commitment to high school and adult college bound students pursuing a post secondary education fueled a career change from Healthcare to Higher Education. For the past ten years, through her emerging company The College Consultant, she has counseled and advised high school students and their families on professional development, financial awareness & scholarship, and the complete college admissions process.

Brandi began her career in Higher Education at her Alma Mater, Western Kentucky University as an Admissions Counselor, specializing in the Diversity areas and Minority Population of the recruitment territory. She has also held several positions in upper management within Institutions of Higher Education. She is the former Interim Director of Career Services and Assistant Director of Admissions at Fisk University in Nashville. She also served as the Director of Recruitment & Admissions at American Baptist College, a small Christian College in Nashville, TN. She has worked in higher education in various departments (Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Life, Housing & Residence Life, Career Services, etc,) for 10 years. She has participated and been a member of the following organizations: NACAC and HECA.

Brandi is very active within her community and church, where she works with the Youth & College Campus Ministry, and the Food Bank Ministry that partners with the 2nd Harvest Food Bank. She is the former Program Director for the Rose Park Community Partnership, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization focused on Youth Summer Enrichment Programs, Adult Literacy, and much more. She is also a member of the Urban League of Middle TN Young Professionals, Young Entertainment Professionals (YEP), the Nashville Junior Chamber (the Young Professional arm of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce), the Nashville Black Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.  

Brandi, a Colorado native, enjoys time spent with her family. She currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee.

Purpose

The purpose of  The College Consultant team is to share and engage in the excitement of this time with YOU, while reducing the stress and anxiety for both you and your family.on the choices available to you and guide you through each step of the process to ensure you are making the best and most informed decisions possible. We believe that the college search begins with self-evaluation and we will help you assess this. We will teach you about all of the different college options and help you to determine which ones will provide the best fit for you. We also will help you find scholarships and apply to the colleges that fit you and/or your family’s desires, needs, and budget. We will guide you through every step of the process from developing the college list, filling out college applications, registering for standardized tests (ACT/SAT), the Financial Aid Process, as well as the Scholarship Process, etc. When the acceptance letters arrive, we will celebrate with you as you make your final decision.


The College Consultant team is based in Nashville, Tennessee. We serve students locally, statewide, across the nation, and internationally. We are also a Military Friendly company, available to assist with the process of applying Military Educational Benefits toward your higher educational goals.
